Spread the love

Real Angry Birds are what some call them, and around the holidays, he finally downloaded the game. Many of his friends who aren’t into birdwatching had been suggesting that he should play it on his iTouch, but he hesitated.

Honestly, he didn’t want to start another hobby that keeps him sitting around, and he knows he tends to get hooked on easy games. While his friend Non Birding Bill enjoys playing complicated games like Civilization, he prefers simpler ones like solitaire, cryptograms, and who doesn’t love Fruit Ninja? Now, he’s giving Angry Birds a try. It’s fun to see what the fuss is all about.

Real Angry Birds

Real angry birds were taking over the country, and as someone who really loves birds, he had to give it a try! When he finally had some free time, he started playing the game. Here’s how it goes: Some sneaky pigs have stolen the eggs of these birds, and now the birds are super mad and ready to attack to get their eggs back.

The pigs aren’t defenseless, though; they’ve built forts and put on armor to protect themselves. It’s kind of like real life because wild boars would eat bird eggs if they found them, but in the game, the birds are much more intense, exploding and taking down forts made of glass, rock, and wood.

To play, you use a slingshot to launch the birds at the pigs, and each bird has its own special abilities. You have to think about physics when you launch the birds, too.

He was surprised when he found out that not many bird lovers know about this game. So, as he played, he started to think about which real birds the Angry Birds might be based on. Some of them were quite straightforward to identify.

The Red Angry Bird bears a striking resemblance to a Northern Cardinal. It’s pretty obvious once you know. He’s held a few cardinals, and let me tell you, their beaks are seriously tough! They’re like real angry birds and can give nasty bites.

The Yellow Angry Bird in the game is like a real angry bird, called the American Goldfinch. It’s special because it can move really fast in short bursts, just like how some hawks do. But it’s funnier to imagine a small, cute bird like this being mad and chasing big green pigs!

The Blue Angry Bird in the game is a puzzle for him. It’s small and completely blue, which reminds him of the Indigo Bunting, but the shade of blue is different. Maybe it’s a Mountain Bluebird? Or perhaps he should think beyond North America and consider an African Blue Flycatcher? It does have a little crest, like the one on the bird in the game.

When you tap the screen after launching it, this bird splits into three birds, making it special. So, it’s like a group of real angry birds!

Real angry  bird is called the Egg Dropping bird. It looks like an artsy chicken with cute orange patches on its cheeks. Look closely at a real chicken, and you’ll notice its eye area is yellow. While its face may resemble a goose, its body is more like an egg because it lays eggs. So, it’s fair to call this bird a chicken.

The black bird that explodes in the game seems to be inspired by a bird called the Crested Myna. If you compare them, you’ll notice similar colors and features, like the little crest on their heads and the red and yellow markings. There might also be hints of the Common Hill Myna in there.

Real Angry Birds

These birds always seem a bit grumpy, but thankfully, they don’t explode like in the game. That would be very dangerous, especially if people kept them as pets.

You know the green bird that acts like a boomerang in the game? Well, it reminds him of the Emerald Toucanet bird. He’s seen it in places like Panama and Guatemala. Even though he didn’t see it boomerang around like in the game, it’s smaller, kinda like the toucanet, and it has a big beak, just like in the game.

Real Angry Birds

There’s one called the Mighty Eagle. You never really see it fully, but there are hints that it’s a Bald Eagle. First off, its head is white, like a Bald Eagle’s. But the big clue is that instead of flinging the bird itself, you fling a tin of sardines, and the eagle swoops in to wipe out all the pigs.

Bald Eagles are known to eat fish and carrion, so it fits perfectly. It’s his favorite character, even though you have to pay extra to use it.

So, what does he think about Angry Birds? Do you agree with his idea? By the way, there’s news about an Angry Birds version of the birds from the movie Rio.

You’ll be able to fling Spix Macaws, Red-crested Cardinals, Canaries, and maybe even a Keel-billed Toucan. What’s really cool is that the game will raise awareness about the illegal trapping of birds for the pet trade. That’s something important to know about.
